Welcome to the home page of the Green Cities Project!
The Green Cities Project
The Green Cities Project is a joint endeavor of the Green Education and Legal Fund, Inc. and the Ecological Economics, Values & Policy (EEVP) program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute(RPI) in Troy, New York (United States). The Green Cities Project builds on the success of the Greening of Rensselaer Initiative (GRI), another project that came out of the Ecological Economics, Values & Policy program. Whereas the GRI focuses on greening the RPI campus, the Green Cities Project is currently focused on greening the city of Troy, New York.
To "green" is to make sustainable.
The Green Cities Project seeks to make the city of Troy more sustainable by following the guidelines you can read more about on the Basic Principles page within this website.
